Fraser Canyon – Lytton Area Wireless Society (Lyttonnet) is now covering an additional 20Km of the Fraser corridor between Lytton and Boston Bar, as well as 15 Km of the Nahatlatch Valley.
The expansion was made to cover households and businesses that have no other viable or affordable access to high-speed Internet. The project was made possible through the effort of local volunteers and contractors.
Lyttonnet is 100% community owned and focus’s on creating local jobs, and improving the local economy with access to affordable High-Speed Internet. Currently Lyttonnet serves around 400 business and residential customers along 125Km of the Fraser Canyon between Pavilion, B.C. to Boston Bar, B.C., as well as covering parts of the Thompson River, Bridge River and Fountain Valley. With its local model Lyttonnet is able to offer some of the best priced wireless Internet in B.C. while maintaining some of the fastest responses to customer problems.
The New Nahatlatch Tower is entirly off-grid running from solar and wind power with a remote start propane generator as backup during long dark wintery nights when wind is also low.
The entire site is monitored and controlled with a Flexs Q5 remote site monitoring plc which manages starting the generator, tracking battery voltages, solar and wind charge and turning loads on and off as needed.
